I gathered the last batch of potatoes and carrots from our vegetable garden this week. I didn’t realize how much was left so I shared half of it with my grandmother and my friends. It’s a great feeling to give your self-grown veggies - something you and nature made together - to your friends and family and bringing smiles to their faces.

The garden has given us so much this summer. Not just food but time together, good exercise (we bike 11km to the garden), a learning experience and sincere gratefulness to nature. It’s amazing to produce your own food. To learn how different veggies grow and what care they need in that wondrous process of life. You start to not think about food in terms of money but in terms of nurture and attention. And it’s fresh, oh so fresh!
